Strong Man concrete curing blankets have reinforced woven poly skins over a bubble cell layered core, reaching R-4.2 when laid over a frame during concrete curing. The perimeter hems are folded and double stitched with UV resistant thread and reinforced with grommets on the corners and long side centers. Use them to cover a pour overnight, hang them as a windbreak, or run them as a temporary insulated curtain barrier.

The Air Valve

This blanket has a valve built into the skin. The stated R-4.2 depends on an air pocket forming beneath the blanket, and the valve lets you manage that pocket rather than leaving it to chance. On a framed setup it helps the blanket seat evenly instead of ballooning. On a flat lay it lets trapped air out so the blanket sits down against the surface. It is a small detail that makes a real difference on a windy site.

How This Compares to Our Domestic 1/2 Inch

We make a heavier half inch blanket in our own plant that reaches R-5.7. It uses thicker poly PE foam over heavier skins, and it is the better blanket if you are dealing with sustained hard cold or a spec that calls for a specific R-value. The tradeoff is lead time: it is built to order and currently runs 25 to 35 business days.

This Strong Man blanket is the in-stock alternative. R-4.2 instead of R-5.7, at a lower price, available now. For most winter pours in most of the country, that is the trade worth making. If you are ordering ahead of the season, look at the domestic R-5.7 build instead.

Sizing Your Order

Overlap blankets by at least 12 inches at the seams and carry coverage past the slab edge, since edges and corners lose heat fastest. Finished sizes run slightly smaller than the nominal size, so buy to the area you need covered rather than to nominal square footage. If you are covering a large slab, ask us about the bulk 25-pack pricing.
