What are anti-static strip curtains used for?

Anti-static strip curtains are used at doorways and openings in clean rooms, data centers, electronics manufacturing facilities, semiconductor production areas, pharmaceutical labs, and anywhere electrostatic discharge (ESD) poses a risk to sensitive equipment or processes. They provide a flexible access barrier that dissipates static charge while allowing personnel and equipment to pass through freely.

How do anti-static strip curtains prevent ESD?

Our anti-static PVC strips contain conductive threads woven into the material that actively dissipate static charge buildup as personnel and equipment pass through. This prevents the sudden discharge of accumulated static electricity that can damage sensitive electronics. Unlike surface-treated anti-static materials that lose effectiveness with wear, our strips maintain their ESD protection throughout their service life.

What is the difference between these and your cleanroom curtains?

Our anti-static strip curtains are a door kit format — pre-cut and punched strips with galvanized mounting hardware designed for installation at doorways and openings. Our Cleanroom Curtains are a softwall partition system with aluminum mounting hardware, ASTM D257 rated static dissipative PVC (1.8 x 10^10 ohm/cm), and a custom configurator for building out complete cleanroom partition walls and zone dividers. If you need a door barrier, use anti-static strip curtains. If you need to build out a cleanroom partition or softwall system, use cleanroom curtains.

Are these curtains fire rated?

Yes. All Steel Guard Safety anti-static strip curtains are CFM (California Fire Marshal) certified fire and flame resistant, providing reliable safety compliance for commercial and industrial cleanroom and data center environments.

What temperature range do these strips handle?

Anti-static strip curtains handle temperatures from -10°F to 150°F with UV stabilizers that reduce yellowing over time — suitable for year-round use in controlled indoor environments.

What sizes and gauges are available?

Standard strip widths are 8" (.080 gauge), 12" (.120 gauge), and 16" (.160 gauge). Select based on your door height: 8" for doors up to 9', 12" for doors 9'–12', and 16" for doors over 13'. Custom sizes are available — call for pricing on non-standard dimensions.

What mounting hardware is included?

Universal galvanized mounting hardware is included with every kit. It mounts on the door face (add 3"–5" to the kit width), in the door jamb, or can be suspended with threaded rod. For surface mounting on a wall, order the kit 1 foot wider and 1 foot taller than your door opening.
