What are clear welding curtains used for?

Clear welding curtains are transparent PVC barrier curtains used to contain grinding debris, sparks, and chips while maintaining visibility across a workspace. They are NOT FOR WELDING FLASH PROTECTION. They are commonly used in manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, medical offices, commercial spaces, and anywhere physical separation is needed without blocking sightlines.

What material are these curtains made from?

Our clear welding curtains are made from 16 mil transparent PVC vinyl. This material is optically clear, durable, and certified to NFPA-701 flame retardant standards and FM Global approval for industrial and commercial use.

Are these curtains fire rated?

Yes. Our clear vinyl welding curtains meet NFPA-701 flame retardant certification and are FM Global approved. This makes them suitable for use in commercial and industrial environments where fire safety compliance is required.

What grommet spacing do these curtains use?

#2 grommets are punched on all four sides at 12" centers, providing secure and evenly distributed mounting points across the full perimeter of the curtain.

How are the hems constructed?

All curtains are sewn with durable nylon thread, double-lock stitched on all four sides with a 2" hem for maximum edge strength. This construction prevents fraying and ensures the curtain holds up under repeated handling and long-term use.

What sizes are available?

Standard sizes are available in 6 ft x 4 ft, 6 ft x 6 ft, 6 ft x 8 ft, 6 ft x 10 ft, and 12 ft x 12 ft. Custom sizes are also available — call us for more information on non-standard dimensions. Note that finished curtain size will be 3"–4" shorter than ordered due to hem allowance.

Are these an equivalent to Steiner welding curtains?

Yes. These clear vinyl curtains are equivalent to the Steiner 339 Series and serve as a direct commercial and industrial replacement at a competitive price point.

Can these be used as sneeze guards or room dividers?

Yes. The transparent PVC construction makes these curtains well suited for use as sneeze guards, clear room dividers, retail barriers, and social distancing partitions in offices, medical facilities, restaurants, and commercial spaces.
