A safety spray shield wraps a flanged pipe joint and contains the release if a gasket, bolt or flange face fails. Without one, a failure vents laterally at line pressure — directly across a walkway, into an adjacent unit, or onto whoever is working the run. The shield redirects that release downward into a controlled drip.

Acid and caustic service

Sulfuric, hydrochloric, sodium hydroxide, sodium hypochlorite and similar media are the reason this product exists. A spray-out in those lines is a burn injury, not a housekeeping problem.

Specify PTFE for aggressive service — chemically inert across effectively the full pH range, with no degradation from prolonged exposure. PVC handles most common acids, salts and alkalis at ambient temperature and is the right economic choice for dilute service and water treatment. If you are unsure whether your media falls inside the PVC range, specify PTFE.
