What is the difference between raised and smooth profile strips?

Smooth profile strips are standard for most warehouse door applications. Raised profile strips are recommended for high-traffic forklift and hi-low environments where strips take repeated impact from vehicles and equipment. The raised profile provides added resistance to damage from constant contact.

What width and gauge should I order for my forklift door?

Strip width and gauge are determined by your door height. For doors 6'–9' tall, use 8" wide strips at .080 gauge. For doors 9'–12' tall, use 12" wide strips at .120 gauge. For doors over 13' tall, use 16" wide strips at .160 gauge. A wider selection starting at 6" / .060 gauge is also available for lighter-duty applications.

What mounting options are available?

Universal galvanized mounting hardware is available with every kit. It mounts on the door face (add 3"–5" to the kit width), in the door jamb, or can be suspended with threaded rod for overhead installations. For surface mounting on a wall, order the kit 1 foot wider and 1 foot higher than your door opening.

Can forklift door strips be used outdoors?

Yes. Our clear vinyl forklift door strips are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They control warehouse temperature, block wind and dust, and hold up to outdoor conditions including UV exposure.
